We are pleased to say that the Eva and Marc Besen Centre is now open. This purpose-built centre was designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects, with landscaping by OCULUS. Plenty of free parking is available for your visit, including dedicated EV charging stations. A courtesy shuttle from our lower car park is available upon request to bring you to our doors. Bike racks are also available on-site for visitors arriving on two wheels.

Our hatted restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am-5pm.

Our hatted restaurant is led by Head Chef Maxwell Parlas and Manager Olivia Carmichael. Their talent and professionalism combine to create a memorable experience for every guest at TarraWarra.

MAXWELL PARLAS

Studying engineering was quickly overtaken by Maxwell's curiosity of food and flavours. He is excited by life and brings this energy into the kitchen, inspiring all around him.

Born and bred in the Yarra Valley, Maxwell has been cooking since childhood, and his food highlights local and seasonal produce. Maxwell also has a keen passion for all things wine and has a great understanding of the synergy between food and wine and the great joys derived from pairing the two. 



TarraWarra Estate acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the original custodians of the lands and waters on which the Estate stands, and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. 

‘Tarrawarra’ is a Woiwurrung word that translates approximately as ‘slow moving water’ and is the name given to the area in which the Estate is located within the Yarra Valley.

Legend has it that the term ‘Tarrawarra’ refers to a bend in the nearby Birrarung (Yarra River), which courses from the Yarra Ranges through to Melbourne, flowing south of the Estates expansive grounds.
